Discipleship Ecosystem Study Guide (E-Book)

Discipleship is an art. Although there are many methods available, a person who excels at discipleship comes not with a technique but with a transformed heart and mind. Recognizing that each person needs individualized instruction and care, a gifted and effective discipler has first been changed by God into a fruitful Christian who then becomes an instrument of God to bring others into God’s transforming care. Although a discipler could be described as a shepherd, mentor, teacher or priest, the best description is a person who is a disciple of Jesus Christ who does the work of discipling others.
Though the Study Guide can be used in any order the reader may choose, it may be beneficial to see the choice itself as an expression of the art. If, for example, the need is to bring healthy discipleship where none is formally being taught, then the first book, Discipleship Ecosystem, provides a good foundation. However, if the need is to turn a dysfunctional church away from toxic elements, then the study could begin with Toxic Discipleship. Likewise, if the need is to change the focus from serving the church to serving God, then the third book, Rootbound, is instructive.
It is my prayer that the church of Jesus Christ will be filled with creative artists in this vital work of discipleship so that we become individually and collectively a holy priesthood of mature disciples filled with the love of God and expressing God’s love to others by the power of the Holy Spirit.
