By Day or By Night: A Free Methodist Prayer Book

$12.95

Following God’s Word as outlined in Year B of the Revised Common Lectionary, By Day or By Night, is a devotional prayer book that invites you to participate in regular rhythms of abiding in Jesus, the Word who was at the Beginning.

Twelve historical Methodist and Free Methodist works are the basis for the monthly devotional writings. Your prayers will most certainly be inspired by them as you reflect upon them in light of your own life.

Author, Rev. Dr. Tyler Boyer of Knox Knolls Free Methodist Church collaborates with six colleagues to present this, his second in a series of Free Methodist Prayer Books around the Lectionary. Boyer says:

“In times as polarized as ours, to surrender ourselves prayerfully to the communion of saints is truly countercultural. Many times prayer is used as a kind of criteria by which we measure our spiritual state. The amount of time spent in individual prayer may even become a benchmark we use to compare ourselves to others. By praying the hours and praying in community with countless others, prayer becomes interdependent rather than independent, and any temptation toward spiritual comparison and competition fades away.”
